Parish Notices

SACRAMENT REGISTRATION SESSION – will be held on Tuesday the 4th of December for any parents that would like their child/ren to make a Sacrament in 2019 at St Thomas the Apostle Parish. The attendance of at least one parent is required. This registration evening is compulsory and will cover a variety of topics for families as well as the dates and requirements for the Program. To assist with the organisation of the evening, we request that families of children not in St Thomas the Apostle Primary School to call the parish office. This session will be held at St Thomas the Apostle Primary School Hall at 7.30pm.
ADVENT CELEBRATION OF THE SACRAMENT OF RECONCILIATION: All parishioners are asked to set aside the evening of Wednesday 12th December for our parish Advent celebration of the Sacrament of Reconciliation with visiting priests. This will take place at 7.30pm at St Peter’s College.

CHRISTMAS MASS TIMES: Christmas Eve at 7.30pm, Christmas Day Midnight Mass and 9.30am

Youth Group Pizza Night: Friday 7th December 7pm – 9pm at St Peter’s College.

Altar Servers Pizza Night: Friday 14th December 6.30pm at St Peter’s College. Please sign and return consent form.

 

 

EXPOSITION OF THE BLESSED SACRAMENT – after this Saturday Vigil Mass. Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament is on every 1st Saturday of each month for half an hour following the Saturday evening Mass.

CATECHISTS REQUIRED: As our parish grows so does our need for catechists for primary school aged children. I am inviting parishioners to respond to our need by contacting the parish office.

RECALL – If you have purchased items from the Olive Wood shop that contain the Lord’s Prayer, please check for any misprint. Call the parish office if you have any issue with your purchase. 

STEWARDSHIP ENVELOPES – Please pick-up your new set of stewardship envelopes at the back of our worship space. For parishioners giving through Direct Debit and Credit Card, please pick-up your receipts. Thank you.

SUMMER SCHOOL OF EVANGELISATIONwill be from 20-27 January 2019 in Kyneton. This event is run by the Disciples of Jesus Covenant Community. All young people aged 16-35 are encouraged to attend a week-long retreat of teaching, live music, Sacraments, prayer, praise and great speakers.  We are also seeking sponsors for participants and will appreciate any contribution. THANK YOU FROM CATHOLIC CARE– CatholicCare would like to thank the parishioners of St Thomas the Apostle Parish for their generous donation of $1,081.75 to the CatholicCare Sunday Appeal.

ORDINATION TO THE PRIESTHOOD – Deacon Paul Hiep Van Nguyen will be ordained to the priesthood for the Diocese of Sale on Saturday 15th December at 11.00 am at St Mary’s Cathedral Sale. All are most welcome to attend.

PIETY STALL – Holy Beginnings piety stall opens every 2nd weekend of the Month. Month of December is on the 8th & 9th. For orders and enquiries, call Rick & Anita on 0450 782 558.

ECUMENICAL DAY ON RAYMOND ISLAND: Clergy and parishioners of the Sale Diocese are invited to come along to the Advent Ecumenical Conversation to be held at The Abbey, Raymond Island (near Bairnsdale) on Thursday 6th December with Bishop Patrick O’Regan and Bishop Richard Treloar, Anglican Bishop of Gippsland.
