PLENARY COUNCIL – LISTENING AND DISCERNMENT PHASE 2019-2020

HOW IS GOD CALLING US TO BE CHRIST-CENTRED CHURCH THAT IS:

– Missionary and Evangelising?

Our parish Plenary Council Animators in conjunction with some members of the Parish Council team, came together last Saturday in one session of Listening and Discernment on the theme of Missionary and Evangelising. Our reflection was based on the Scriptures, this time on Matthew 10:5-15 and also on the stories of faith of some parishioners across Australia and the topics raised nationally during phase 1 – ‘Listening and Dialogue’.

Dear parishioners: as part of our love to the Holy Trinity and commitment to our Catholic faith, we encourage everyone to get involved in this phase of Listening and Discernment. Very soon, we will hold some sessions open to all parishioners. We would like our parish to grow spiritually in the light of the love that God has for us.  Stay tune as we continue seeking the wisdom of the Holy Spirit. Please visit the Plenary Council website for more information on the stage of Listening and Discerning: www.plenarycouncil.com.au

RCIA – Rite of Acceptance this Sunday 17th November at 10.45 am Mass.- During this Mass, our Parish joyfully welcomes Margaret Grech, Junghee Youm and Dhaneshi Mannapperuma who for first time assemble before the parish. Margaret, Junghee and Dhaneshi have been attending the RCIA process since July this year in response to their call enquiring about the Catholic faith. Weekly, we have been sharing the gospel and some aspects of our faith. As a parish, we have been praying for them at each Mass. Now, they have decided to continue this journey of faith and enter into a relationship with Christ and his Church. At this Mass, they publicly will confirm their desire to do so and we as a parish will accept them to go into the period of the Catechumate. Margaret, Junghee and Dhaneshi are seeking to be baptised, be confirmed and received the Holy Eucharist at Easter next year.  Their formation also will continue in the months ahead. Let us pray for them that the Holy Spirit will abide in their hearts, souls and minds to encounter the person of Jesus Christ. Please collect a prayer card for one of the catechumens to take home so you will have her always in your thoughts.

WE WELCOME AS CHILD OF GOD – Ved Levi Arockiasamy, child of Francis & Jenifar and Thomas Kyrie Kan, child of Theara & Sherrie.
