RCIA – We congratulate Dilmini Gamaralalage who received the Sacraments of Initiation at our Easter Vigil. We welcome her into our Catholic faith and our Parish community and celebrate with joy as she enters into the fullness of God’s grace through the seal of the Holy Spirit and the miracle of the Eucharist. Also, we congratulate Krishendi De Silva who was Confirmed and received Holy Communion for the first time at Easter Vigil. May she be blessed as she continues her journey of faith in trust, peace and love. May God bless Dilmini and Krishendi in their daily lives.

 

SACRAMENT OF CONFIRMATION –  Parents of children making the Sacrament of Confirmation at St Thomas the Apostle Parish this year please note the Parent Information Session and Workshop is on Wednesday 1st May at 7.00pm. Children are not required on this day.

UNLOCKING THE MYSTERY OF THE BIBLE SERIES which was scheduled for this Sunday 28th April at 7pm at St Agatha’s Cranbourne is CANCELLED. We received sad news that Jeff Cavins’ Mother in law, Alice Tobler, passed away on Easter Sunday. As a result, Jeff and his wife will not be travelling to Australia at this time so all events have all been cancelled. We will update you further once we have more news about rescheduling of the tour.

DIOCESAN ASSEMBLY PREPARATION MEETING: Tuesday 7th May at 7.30pm at St Peter’s College. This meeting is for members of our Parish Pastoral Council, our Parish Plenary Council Team, and all parishioners are also invited. The meeting will be led by Sophy Morley. Sophy is the Pastoral Coordinator for the Sale Diocese and the Diocesan Convenor for the “Gaudium et Spes” Plenary Council 2020.

ICON & CANDLE: Every parish in the Sale Diocese will have the Icon of Our Lady of Perpetual Help and the Plenary Council Candle for one week in preparation for the Diocesan Assembly to be held in September. Our Parish will receive the Icon and Candle at Masses next weekend. We do invite parishioners to pray for the success of the coming Diocesan Assembly.

ADORATION OF THE BLESSED SACRAMENT: next Saturday after the 6.00pm Mass. Join us for prayer.

CATHOLIC BISHOPS’ FEDERAL ELECTION STATEMENT: The bishops call for respect in public debate, share Catholic social teaching and detail some key issues to reflect on before you vote. “Politics in service of peace: a statement by the Catholic bishops of Australia for the 2019 federal election” can be found at www.catholic.org.au

PROJECT COMPASSION: All boxes are to be received next weekend! Bishop O’Regan has written to thank you for the generosity of the Sale Diocese parishes to both Project Compassion and the collection for the Holy Places which is held every Good Friday.

SPECIAL COLLECTIONS –

–          Collection will be taken up at the 10.45am Mass this weekend for the Sri Lanka community overseas affected by the Easter Day Bombing. If you are unable to attend the 10.45am Mass and would like to make a contribution, you can bring your contribution to the Parish Office before next weekend.

–          Good Shepherd Sunday – Next weekend, there will be a special collection for the Education of Seminarians Bursary Fund.

THANK YOU for your generosity – We are very grateful for your generous contributions on Good Friday and Easter Sunday. We collected for: Good Friday (Holy Places) – $2373.55 and at Easter weekend Masses (special collection for FORMED.Org) – $523.75.
