PARISH SESSIONS: The Listening and Dialogue phase ends on Ash Wednesday (6th March), let us take the final opportunity to contribute as a church community in creating the agenda for the Plenary Council 2020

allowing the Holy Spirit to help and guide us to respond…

Home sessions and Personal responses: We encourage families to still hold a session at home. To assist you with that, please pick up a copy of the guidelines that are on the tables at the entrances. Personal responses are also welcomed. Responses can be done directly to the Plenary Council website and/or handed in into the Parish Office. PARISH RETREAT NIGHT by Lalith Perera at St Peter’s College Clyde North on Wednesday 6th Feb 7.30pm.
SACRAMENT OF FIRST RECONCILIATION All Parents with child/ren making their Sacrament of First Reconciliation this year at St Thomas the Apostle Parish are to attend the Information & Workshop session on Tuesday 5th Feb or 12th Feb at 7.00pm at St Thomas the Apostle Primary School. Children are not required at this session.

 

ADORATION of the BLESSED SACRAMENT – Saturday after the 6.00pm Mass. 

SCHOOL OF DISCIPLESHIP – Our parish of St. Thomas the Apostle will be hosting the School of Discipleship program. It is founded and directed by Aneel Aranha who started a Catholic lay apostolate called The Holy Spirit Interactive. It is recognized as an association of Faith and Outreach by Bishop Paul Hinder, Apostolic Vicar of Southern Arabia. Aneel was led to a powerful encounter with Jesus after being an atheist for 25 years.

This school is dedicated to strengthening the Faith and spreading the Word of God around the world. It is based on the Gospel of Matthew 28:18-20 which commands us “to make disciples of all nations.”

A speaker will be at all Masses on the 8/9th February to introduce the school and how it has impacted her life. Parishioners and youth are requested to enrol in this. It will be a life changing experience for each one.

YOUTH GROUP MEETING – The youth of St Thomas the Apostle will meet again on Friday 15th Feb 7.30pm – 9.00pm. All youths from high school age to young adults are welcome. Come and See!

COMBINED CATHOLIC PARISHES RAFFLE – Tickets Sold Out!! Thank you for your support. Tickets due back on 7th April 2019. Please leave staples on tickets. (VCGR Permit no. – 10699/18)

CATECHISTS REQUIRED: As our parish grows so does our need for catechists for primary school aged children. I am inviting parishioners to respond to our need by contacting the parish office.

MASS OFFERING ENVELOPES are available at both entrances of our worship space. We request that you write your contact number on the envelope should the date of the Mass you requested for is not available.

PIETY STALL – Holy Beginnings piety stall opens every 2nd weekend of the month. Month of February is on the 9th & 10th. For orders and enquiries, call Rick & Anita on 0450 782 558.

LAMP – The theme of the day is ‘Aspire to Purpose- “I have come to give life and life to the full”- John 10:10. Date: 9th February Time: 9am – 4pm at Our Lady Help of Christians, Narre Warren Cost:$5. There will be sumo suits wrestling, well known guest speakers such as Sam Clear, music, adoration and reconciliation. Ages from 13 to 25 are welcome. There will be a junior stream for Year 5s and 6s.
