RCIA – Easter Vigil Mass – We continue praying for our elect, Dilmini Gamaralalage, who will receive the Sacraments of Baptism, Holy Eucharist and Confirmation and our candidate, Krishendi De Silva, who will receive the Sacraments of Holy Eucharist and Confirmation at this Easter Vigil. May they be filled with love, hope, faith and be blessed abundantly with the presence of Jesus in their hearts.

Supper to share after Easter Vigil Mass: we invite all parishioners to come together after Mass to celebration with cake the Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ and at the same time to congratulate Dilmini for her Baptism, Holy Eucharist and Confirmation and to Krishendi for her First Eucharist and Confirmation. If possible, please bring a plate to share.

PROJECT COMPASSION: Boxes to be returned on Holy Thursday at the Mass of the Lord’s Supper. They can be brought forward at the Offertory Procession.

GOOD FRIDAY COLLECTION for Church in the Holy Land is to be taken up at both the Stations of the Cross and the afternoon Celebration of the Passion of the Lord

CHRISM MASS – Mass of the Oils will be concelebrated by Bishop Patrick with the priests at St Mary’s Cathedral Sale, on Tuesday 16th April at 11.00am. You are invited to participate in this Mass at the Cathedral. . This is always a beautiful occasion when the Oils being blessed and consecrated and distributed to parishes for use in the celebration of the sacraments. The Chrism Mass is also the occasion where the clergy recommit to priestly and diaconal ministry.

YOUTH GOOD FRIDAY SERVICE PRACTICE – on Holy Thursday 6.00pm at St Peter’s College Clyde North.

SACRAMENT OF CONFIRMATION – Parents of children making the Sacrament of Confirmation at St Thomas the Apostle Parish this year please note the Parent Information Session and Workshop is on Tuesday 23rd April or Wednesday 1st May at 7.00pm. Please attend one of the sessions. Children are not required on this day.

FUNDRAISING FOR OUR NEW CHURCH BUILDING: With the project to build our first church, and also our parish offices, progressing and hopefully coming to completion over the coming 2 years, parishioners who are willing to work for a parish fundraising campaign are asked to please contact the parish office. Some have done this previously, and we invite you to renew your offer, and we are conscious that we have always new parishioners coming to our parish, and we would welcome your support too.

PARISH SAFETY OFFICER’S MESSAGE – You might notice some new posters appearing around our worship space regarding child safety; the recently introduced (July 2018) National Office for Child Safety has initiated National Principles for Child Safe Organisations. It is an important aspect of the role of the Parish Safety Officer to assist the entire Parish community to adopt these principles for the good of all the young people in our Parish. As a Catholic Parish (entity) we are also supported and guided by Catholic Professional Standards Limited (CPSL) in order to adopt the National Principles along with the Draft National Catholic Standards for Safeguarding, whom also have the momentous task of auditing every Catholic entity across the country every three years against the Catholic Standards.
