Message from our Parish Priest – 8th Dec 2019

Dear Parishioners,

Last week at Masses I invited parishioners to commit to spiritual exercises to encounter the graces of Advent in the four busy weeks that bring us to the Christmas season. What have you done??

Pope Francis has written to us reminding us not to forget the importance of the Nativity scene. He wants to encourage the beautiful family tradition of preparing the nativity scene in our homes, but also the custom of setting it up in our workplaces, schools, hospitals and public spaces. The Nativity scene invites us to set out on a spiritual journey contemplating the great love of God for us.

Please do not forget to come to our Parish Advent celebration of the Sacrament of Reconciliation this coming Wednesday evening.

Fr Michael Willemsen: This weekend Fr Michael and Fr Denis are exchanging parishes to enable Fr Michael to participate in a family gathering. Fr Michael is the Parish Priest of all the parishes in East Gippsland in what is known as the East Gippsland Mission. He lives at St Mary’s Bairnsdale and we warmly welcome him to our parish this weekend.

May God bless you all, Fr Denis
