IMAGE OF ST THOMAS THE APOSTLE: The image of St Thomas which has been and is so central to our prayer and reflection comes from a window in a small English Catholic Church which opened in 1849. It is from the Church of St Birinus at Dorchester on Thames, Wallingford near Oxford. The architect for this church, William Wardell, later emigrated to Australia and is well known for being the architect for St Patrick’s Cathedral, Melbourne, and St Mary’s Cathedral, Sydney. The image is used with the blessing and best wishes of the priest and parishioners of St Birinus Church.
