PLENARY COUNCIL 2020 – LISTENING AND DIALOGE SESSIONS STARTING ON 3RD NOVEMBER:      Our responses to “WHAT IS GOD ASKING OF US IN AUSTRALIA AT THIS TIME?” is crucial for all of us in Australia. Let us be part of the listening and dialogue encounters as a parish offering our time, thoughts and faith experience. Let us come together to 2-3 and/or 4 sessions to share the love of our Lord and God. “Let the Holy Spirit embrace us in this journey of faith” to renew the Church of Jesus in his truth and love.

 

EVENING SESSIONS: at St Peter’s College at 7.30 pm          Dates: Wednesday : 7th, 14th, 21st, 28th, November

WEEKEND SESSIONS: at St Peter’s College at 4.00 pm     Dates: Saturday: 3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th, November

DAY SESSIONS: at Blue Hills Chapel at 10.15 am                          Dates: 1st Session: Wed 7 Nov & 2nd Session: Thu 15 Nov

 

The emphasis of these sessions is for each person to attend if possible a total of 3 to 4 sessions. ALL ARE WELCOME! ALL ARE INVITED TO JOIN IN! RCIA: The Rite of Acceptance will be celebrated at the 10.45am Mass next Sunday 4th November.

NATIONAL APOLOGY to victims and survivors of institutional child sexual abuse: Message from Bishop O’Regan to the people of the Diocese of Sale. On Monday 22nd October, the Prime Minister of Australia, the Hon Scott Morrison MP, delivered the National Apology to Victims and Survivors of Institutional Child Sexual Abuse at Parliament House in Canberra. Bishop O’Regan has issued a Pastoral Statement in response to and in support of the National Apology. Please take home a copy to read.

SALE DIOCESE CELEBRATES THE CLOSURE OF THE YEAR OF THE YOUTH: “The LAMP ABLAZE” – All youths are cordially invited to join in the celebration of Thanksgiving for the wonderful opportunities afforded us during this Year of the Youth and to officially mark the closure of the Year of the Youth. Date: 17th November at St Peter’s College West Campus. Registration between 8.30 – 9.30am. Cost: $5 payable on the day. CATHOLIC MISSION SUNDAY – ‘You are Mission’ is a message for all of us. As Pope Francis writes in his World Mission Day message this year, ’Every man and woman is a mission; that is the reason for our life on this earth’. Catholic Mission is the international mission agency of the Catholic Church in Australia. Compelled by the message, life and love of Jesus Christ, Catholic Mission forms Australians for mission and raises funds for mission—in Australia and around the world. Envelopes are available and they can be placed in the offering plate at all Masses this weekend.

VOLUNTEERS needed for set-up for Saturday evening Mass – There is an urgent need for regular assistance with the set-up from 4.30pm for our parish Saturday Mass. This is being left to too few, and a group of volunteer helpers is required. Please contact the parish office to offer your assistance.

ROSTERS FOR PARISH MASSES: The Parish Office is preparing to construct the next cycle of rosters for Parish Masses (December – March). If you would like to make any changes to your current ministries please contact the Parish Office to update the ministry and preferred Mass time. Please also notify us if your contact details have changed.

LISTENING AND DIALOGUE SESSIONS WITH THE BISHOP – Bishop Pat is inviting the whole Diocesan Community to participate in one of 5 regional Plenary Council listening & Dialogue sessions with the Bishop.  We will be engaged in prayerful listening, discussion & faith sharing as we journey towards the Plenary Council in 2020.  The fruits of our discussions will be submitted online to the Plenary Council. VENUE: The Old Church, St Michael’s Church Berwick, 7.30pm Tuesday 30th October. Please refer to flyer for other sessions.

PRIESTLY ORDINATION – Rev. Mr Hiep Nguyen will be ordained priest on Saturday 15th December at 11am in St Mary’s Cathedral, Sale. All parishioners are welcome. Please keep Hiep Nguyen in your prayer.

“CAUSE”: The Coalition Against Unsafe Schools Education (CAUSE) is an association that has serious reservations about the application of the Safe Schools Program in State Primary Schools. It is inviting support from concerned parents and parishioners, and assistance with distributing flyers in our local area. If you are interested and would like to assist, please contact the Parish Office. The Catholic Education Office of our Diocese also has serious reservations regarding this program, and the elements of concern are not being implemented in any Catholic Primary School in the Diocese. CAUSE is not an association of the Catholic Church but we do support some issues about which CAUSE is concern.

PIETY STALL – Holy Beginnings piety stall opens every 2nd weekend of the Month. For orders and enquiries, call Rick & Anita on 0450 782 558. Month of November is on the 10th & 11th.

FAMILY PRAYER MEETING – Last Friday of every month at St Peter’s College, Clyde North 7.30pm – 8.30pm. For enquiries, contact Jean-Paul Antoine 59907777 or the parish office. Month of November is on the 30th.
