Plenary Council  “Year of Listening and Discernment”

The Plenary Council National Team is continuing preparing this phase. As we wait for the information to arrive at our parish, we pray to the Spirit of God to uphold the people of Australia in his heart.

Plenary Council website: www.plenarycouncil.com.au

We want to hear from people all across our Diocese about the vision they have for their parishes and Diocese in living the joy of the Gospel.

Who is going to the Diocesan Assembly? There will be around 400 people attending the Assembly. These include clergy, delegates from each parish, heads of Diocesan agencies, Diocesan councils, school principals, religious education leaders and others. There will be official observers from other Christian Churches. The Assembly will begin at 6.30 pm on Friday and conclude at 4.00 pm on Saturday.

What will the Assembly discuss? – “Sharing our Story, Celebrating Our Faith, Shaping Our Future” is the broad theme of our Diocesan Assembly. The major Assembly topics (based on Listening and Dialogue responses): 1. Faith Formation & Spirituality (living out the joy of the Gospel) 2. Leadership & Governance (providing leadership and structures that promote evangelisation) 3. Families and Vocation (raising disciples in our families, so that they can go out into the world) 4. Liturgy and Prayer (nourishing our communities) 5. The Welcoming Community (a community on mission, not maintenance)

How can you join in the discussion for our Diocesan Assembly? You are invited to join in a parish discussion on the Diocesan Assembly Themes and share your thoughts. You might also wish to discuss in small groups. The discussion kit is available from your parish office or you can download it from the Diocesan website https://www.cdsale.org.au/news/ You may also send in your own personal submission online https://www.cdsale.org.au/news/
