Dear Parishioner

Locked doors and locked hearts do not deter the Risen Christ. Literally and figuratively, the apostles were locked behind closed doors. They were locked in the upper room, fearful of the authorities. They were also locked inside their own fear, anger, guilt and grief….. and Jesus broke through it all.

He appeared suddenly in their midst and shared with them the first gifts of the Resurrection: forgiveness and peace…. Healing. He commissioned them to share those gifts with others. He sent them out, as the Father sent him.

And so, too, we are sent.
